Overview —
This ski chalet remodels elements found in traditional Swiss design such as relocating the external timber balcony to the side to allow an uninterrupted mountain view from within the living space and using its location to harness the solar gain from low angled winter sun. As Swiss planning law limits foreign owned properties to 200 msq bedrooms, this chalet incorporates a master suite as an additional fourth bedroom on a dual aspect mezzanine above the principal spaces. The building is designed to use geothermic heating and hot water.
